Which baby products are essential in the first year? Avoid buying gadgets you might not even use. Here’s a baby list of essentials you DO need for your baby.
I remember when I was pregnant with my first child. I didn't have any clue about the kinds of things I needed to get. Toys R' Us had this baby checklist for new babies. It came in very handy. However, many years later when I was pregnant with my second, I couldn't find a checklist anywhere. I looked online, but couldn't find a whole list of all the supplies I would need. Now, with experience after having 3 babies, I decided to create my own checklist of what I believe is essential for a newborn. I hope I have not forgotten anything, and I hope this helps all you new moms- and dads-to-be. I have the list typed out below, but also in a prettier picture format that you can choose to print instead. I should also note that this list is only for newborn items; not for items that come later.
In the last two years of being mom, I now know what is really needed, and what is a nice to have. With being in another online community for my June 2014 baby and seeing the confusion (and panic!) in new moms thinking they are not ready or don’t have enough, I decided to make a pretty basic baby list to share with our Candied Chaos readers. I do realize that everyone really has their own must have list. For example, I adored the baby swing, but is it a must? No. So, it didn’t make the list. I am keeping it basic here!
Both newborn and baby checklists also work great for planning your baby registry for a baby shower. For expecting moms getting ready for delivery day, there is also a Moms Delivery Day Bag Checklist with items you may want to have during your hospital stay. Also check out our new template.
