Game of Thrones Board Game - Review - Geek Girl Review

A Game of Thrones The Board Game 2nd Ed. is set up to play three to six players. With rules to adjust for the amount of players in the game. The game itself is not for the casual gamer per sey. It’s a long game of strategy that can easily go over four hours but oh what a four hours it is! All the theme and feel you could ever want in a strategy game is locked in this incarnation. All the houses: Stark, Lannister, Baratheon, Tyrell, Greyjoy and Martell, are in this game as you battle for territory in Westeros with political intrigue, back stabbing and hard fought war campaigns.

If you’re an ardent fan, the next set you must have for your home is this Risk Game of Thrones Board Game. It includes 2 custom maps which highlights Westeros and Essos and comes with over 600 unique game pieces. This includes the armies represented by each of the noble houses. Unlike and the general board games you’ve been used to playing till date, this one is unique and can be played in 3 different ways. You can choose among Skirmish, Dominion or World at War. It’s a 2-7 player game you can play with your and have some fun together during weekends. After all, quality time spent with your near and dear ones is always worth it!

Game of Thrones the Board Game Review | Polyhedron Collider

With the Game of Thrones TV show at an all time high, I thought this would be a great time to introduce the A Game of Thrones The Board Game 2nd Ed. to those fans who many not know about it or who or not savvy with the latest rage of board games. A Game of Thrones The Board Game 2nd Ed. is put out by the board game publishing juggernaut Fantasy Flight Games located in Roseville, MN and is based on George R.R. Martins bestselling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire.”

I raise all of this to ensure you understand that the appropriate setting in which to learn how to play the Game of Thrones board game is not this one. We had some of the right elements, a number of smart and deeply geeky people with a love of Game of Thrones (both the books and the series), a couple of us who had read the rules (though not quite to completion) and GeekBoy with his commanding DMs voice and presence to ensure we stepped through gameplay in an orderly fashion. However things did not quite go according to plan.
